A small team that has shipped a lot of apps

Appix Engine started in 2018 with three engineers and one conviction: mobile products fail because of scope and speed, not because of technology. Six years and 120+ launches later, we still build that way.

Our story

We met building consumer apps inside a company where a button change took six weeks to reach users. The engineering wasn't the bottleneck — the process was. Three of us left in 2018 to find out how fast a small, senior team could move when nobody was translating decisions through four layers of management.

The first client was a regional grocery chain whose delivery app was losing customers at checkout. We rebuilt it in eleven weeks. Orders per user went up 38%, and that project became the template for everything since: understand the actual problem, cut the scope to what moves the number, ship something real quickly, then keep improving it with evidence.

Today Appix Engine is 24 people across engineering, design and delivery, working with clients from Dhaka to Amsterdam to Dubai. We've stayed deliberately small. Growing headcount would mean putting people on your project who didn't sit in your kickoff — and that's the exact failure mode we started this agency to avoid.

What we believe

Four principles we won't trade away

These aren't poster slogans. Each one costs us money on some projects, which is how you know we mean them.

Scope is a decision, not a wish list

Our discovery workshops usually remove more features than they add. If something won't change a number you care about, we'll argue for cutting it — even though a bigger build means a bigger invoice for us.

The client owns everything

Code, repositories, design files, store accounts, infrastructure. No proprietary frameworks that hold you hostage, no licence you have to keep paying us for. You can walk away with the whole product at any point.

Performance is part of the spec

Cold-start time, frame budget, bundle size and crash-free rate are written into the acceptance criteria alongside the features. An app that works but stutters hasn't met the requirement.

Bad news travels fast

If an estimate slips or an approach turns out wrong, you hear it that week — not at the end of the sprint dressed up in progress language. Trust is easier to keep than to rebuild.

How we work

A process built to remove surprises

Six stages from first call to a live app that keeps improving. You always know what's happening, what it costs and what comes next.

  1. 01

    Discovery workshop

    Two intensive days with your stakeholders. We map users, journeys, technical constraints and success metrics, then produce a written spec with a fixed estimate. You can take that document to another agency if you want — it's yours either way.

  2. 02

    Product design

    Information architecture, wireframes, then a clickable prototype in Figma. We test it with five to eight people from your actual audience and fix what confuses them before engineering starts, where changes are cheap.

  3. 03

    Architecture & setup

    Data model, API contracts, environments and CI/CD pipeline. By the end of this stage a build lands in TestFlight and Play Internal Testing automatically on every merge.

  4. 04

    Build sprints

    Two-week cycles with a demo on a real device at the end of each. You share our board, our repository and our standup notes. Priorities can change between sprints — that's the point of working this way.

  5. 05

    QA & store submission

    Device-lab testing across a matrix of real hardware, accessibility audit, performance profiling, then store listings, screenshots and submission. We handle review responses and resubmissions.

  6. 06

    Launch support & iteration

    Staged rollout with crash and performance monitoring from day one. Ninety days of support is included; after that, most clients keep us on a retainer for the next set of releases.
